Join us for a Fisher & Paykel Symposium titled "The role of non-invasive respiratory support in hypoxemic respiratory failure" at 1030 on Thursday, June 11th. This will be held in the Britannic Suite and also livestreamed. 

Nasal high flow therapy (NHF) is now central to the management of acute hypoxemic respiratory failure. While trials have demonstrated its physiological benefits and clinical effectiveness, real-world data highlight how outcomes are shaped by patient severity, timing, and clinical context.

In this session, Professor Domenico Luca Grieco (Rome) will explore how NHF performs beyond controlled studies, emphasising its strengths in oxygenation, respiratory support, comfort and patient-centred care. He will also discuss the importance of recognising treatment failure early, integrating NHF into structured escalation pathways and where the therapy is placed comparatively to other non-invasive modalities.

Ultimately, NHF remains a powerful first-line therapy-with its success depending on how and when it is applied in practice.
