Critical Care Reviews Newsletter

December 13th 2012

Welcome

Hello

Welcome to the 53rd Critical Care Reviews Newsletter, bringing you the best critical care articles published in the past week, including a wide range of free full text review articles and guidelines from over 300 clinical and scientific journals. Apologies for being days late, but better late than never.

There were no major research articles last week that I saw, so for the first time this section is blank rather filling it for the sake of it. This week's guidelines are from the Infectious Disease Society of America on prosthetic joint infections and from the European Society of Cardiology on the management of antithrombotic therapy in heart failure.  There are three interesting editorials on West Nile Virus, the ongoing fungal meningitis outbreak in the USA, and the hydroxyethyl starch debate. This week's review articles are dominated by an excellent series from Anaesthesia on various medical and anaesthetic emergencies. The topic for This Week's Papers is dysrhythmias.
